Hi! I'm David.

I'm a UK-based Level Designer with a background in games programming.

I've been working in the Games Industry for around 3 and a half years now starting out as a Technical Designer before transitioning into a Level Design role around 1 year in.

During my time working in games I've had the amazing opportunity to work on the Fallout franchise, namely Fallout 76. Due to the nature of the project, I've had the opportunity to grow in many different areas of Level Design. From open-world region design to detailed environmental storytelling in quest locations. I attribute a lot of my growth to the variety of content we deliver on this project and I'm thankful for that opportunity.

Background
At University I was studying with the goal of becoming a gameplay programmer. My course was a 50:50 split of coursework and academic work. This meant that half of my time was to be spent developing game projects alongside teams of other students. Every year of the course we were tasked with producing a game with our team. This gave me a lot of hands-on experience implementing elements such as movement, gameplay abilities and systems in, both, Unity and Unreal. A highlight of this was my final team project where myself and another programmer successfully implemented a turn-based battle system using a mix of C++ and Blueprints.

Towards the end of University I started to search for a job in the industry. Technical Design was a relatively new discipline at the time and it sounded like something that'd be up my street. So I started applying to various Tech Design roles. Eventually I was offered a position as a Junior Technical Designer at Double Eleven where I would be working on Fallout 76.

Around a year into my time at Double Eleven I had a discussion with my manager about possibly moving to the Level Design team. After a few conversations it was decided that this would be fine and I was swiftly welcomed to the team. Shortly after, I was tasked with working on FO76's first map expansion Skyline Valley, a really exciting opportunity and something that I could get my teeth into. Further down the line towards the end of the patch I was promoted to Mid-Level Designer due to my contributions in the Skyline Valley Patch.

Most recently I've been working on the Burning Springs patch, which was released at the beginning of December 2025. I'm really proud of the work I did on this patch and I believe it to be some of my best to date.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, if any questions remain unanswered feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to elaborate!
